Fire Watch Pro is an IoT Automated Continuous Monitoring System (ACMS) from Siya Habitats Pvt. Ltd., the technology and services division of IFE, Nagpur. It watches a building's fire alarm panel, fire pumps and their power, water tanks and fans, and shows each system's readiness on one dashboard. Maharashtra and Delhi now require continuous monitoring by law for the buildings their rules list, and the Fire Watch Pro monitoring dashboards are live.
Fire equipment passes inspection on inspection day and then degrades silently. A register entry proves that a visit happened. It does not prove that the pumps will start. As Siya Habitats puts it, fire safety is checked once a year, but fire happens on the other 364 days.
At IFEM we teach fire safety around Indian legislation first, and for a long time that legislation asked mainly for periodic checks. That has now changed. The question a building owner has to answer is no longer only "was the system inspected?" but "is the system ready right now?" Fire Watch Pro is the answer IFE's technology division has built for that question.
An ACMS is an Internet of Things (IoT) system fitted to a building's fire fighting installations so that their condition is known at all times, not only on the day of an inspection. Their status reaches the owner or occupier, and the agency responsible for the system, as it changes.
The aim is simple. A tripped jockey pump, a dry overhead tank or a dead panel battery should show up on a screen the moment it happens, instead of during a fire. An ACMS does not replace the fire alarm system, the pumps or the periodic certificates. It sits on top of them and keeps a running history of their health.
Yes, for the buildings the rules list. In Maharashtra the duty is in section 3(3A) of the Maharashtra Fire Prevention and Life Safety Measures Act, 2006, inserted by the Amendment Act of 2023. The technical requirements are in the Appendix to the Maharashtra Fire Prevention and Life Safety Measures (Amendment) Rules, 2025, notified on 12 June 2025. The Maharashtra duty covers the buildings listed in section 45(1) of the Act, which include:
In Delhi, rule 37 of the Delhi Fire Service Rules 2010, as amended by the Delhi Fire Service (Amendment) Rules 2025, requires an ACMS for the occupancies in rule 27(2) to (12). The amendment was published on 26 May 2026 and rule 37 commenced 90 days later, on 24 August 2026. Siya Habitats sets out both sets of rules, with each clause cited, in its guide to the ACMS rules in Maharashtra and Delhi.
Every system a fire officer asks about:
It works with the equipment a building already has. Fire Watch Pro observes without interfering, so nothing in the fire system is modified, and there is no need to replace the fire panel or the pumps to start monitoring them.
One screen for every system in the building. Pumps, tanks, the fire alarm system and smoke management sit together, so a tripped pump stands out on the screen instead of waiting for the next inspection to find it. When the fire alarm operates, the call points and the smoke management fans appear alongside it, so the person watching sees the alarm and what the building did next. The same dashboard works on a phone, for the facility manager who is never at a desk.
In short, compliance becomes a live state, not an annual event.
For students and working professionals on IFEM's fire safety programmes, ACMS is a clear example of practice moving from the periodic to the continuous. The core knowledge stays the same: what a fire pump, a tank, a panel and a fan must do, and which clause says so. What changes is that the people responsible for a building can now see the state of those systems every day.
That is the kind of work IFE's technology division was set up to do: take a rule that already exists and turn it into a check a building can pass every day. See the Fire Watch Pro IoT fire monitoring system in detail, or read about Siya Habitats and its four fire safety products.
