The Energy Conservation Act 2001 requires designated consumers to appoint certified energy managers and conduct periodic energy audits. The Bureau of Energy Efficiency administers that certification, and demand for qualified people consistently outstrips supply.
PGVDEMA covers energy accounting and benchmarking, thermal and electrical systems, audit instrumentation and measurement, energy economics and project appraisal, renewable integration, and the statutory framework under the Energy Conservation Act and BEE guidelines.
One year, 40 credits, with a practical component and an industry energy audit project. Built as a structured pathway for candidates heading towards BEE certification.
Every module closes on a live audit case: a real facility, a real energy bill, a real inefficiency. Students take the measurements, build the energy balance, cost the savings and write the audit report with a payback analysis.
By the end of the year a graduate has produced a full industrial energy audit, which is the deliverable the job actually asks for.
