M.VOC · NSQF 8-9 · 2 YEARS

When a district floods, somebody has to run the response. MVDM trains that person.

Two years. NSQF Level 8 to 9. 80 credits. Delivered by IFEM as Industrial Academic Training Partners (IATP) with IUN (International University Nagaland), built around India's disaster management architecture and the agencies that operate it.

Not for people who want to study disasters. For people who intend to be standing in one, holding the plan.

India runs on disaster response. Very few people are formally trained to lead it.

India faces floods, cyclones, earthquakes, industrial accidents and urban fires on a scale few countries manage. The Disaster Management Act 2005 built a national architecture to respond, from NDMA down to district authorities.

That architecture needs trained people. MVDM covers hazard and vulnerability assessment, disaster risk reduction, incident command, search and rescue coordination, relief and rehabilitation, business continuity, and the legal framework governing all of it.

Two years, 80 credits, a dissertation and a supervised field placement. Graduates move into coordination roles where the plan is theirs to write and theirs to run.

Where MVDM graduates land.

MVDM runs on the FIELD-TO-FIRE.

FIELD-TO-FIRE

Disaster management cannot be taught from a textbook alone. Every MVDM module works through a real scenario: a real hazard profile, a real affected population, a real resource constraint. Students build the incident action plan, assign the resources and defend the decisions.

The method draws on IFE's two decades of emergency response practice and its work with municipal corporations and state agencies.
