Vocational degree delivered as Industrial Academic Training Partners (IATP) with IUN (International University Nagaland). Institutional backbone: IFE Nagpur.

India responds to disasters constantly.
Almost nobody is formally trained for it at entry level.

Floods, cyclones, earthquakes, industrial accidents and urban fires are a routine feature of Indian administration, not an exception. The Disaster Management Act 2005 created a national structure to respond to them.

BVDM builds people for that structure from the ground up. Across three years and 120 credits you cover hazard and vulnerability assessment, search and rescue technique, first response and triage, relief logistics, community preparedness, and the legal and institutional framework that governs disaster response in India.

Year one exits with a Diploma, year two an Advanced Diploma, year three the full B.Voc, at par with a conventional bachelor's degree for government recruitment. Credits sit in the Academic Bank of Credits.

Where BVDM graduates start.

Graduates who continue to PGVD or M.Voc move into HSE Manager, Safety Consultancy, and audit authority roles.

BVDM runs on the FIELD-TO-FIRE.

FIELD-TO-FIRE

Response cannot be learned from a slide deck. Every semester puts students into scenario work: a hazard profile, an affected population, limited resources, and a plan they have to build and defend in a squad.

Drill-ground exercises run alongside, using the same facilities and faculty that train IFE's fire service cohorts.

Is BVDM for you?

This is for you if

  • You are a Class 12 student, any stream, drawn to emergency services, civil defence or humanitarian work.
  • You want a degree with Multiple Entry and Exit rather than a single three-year commitment.
  • You are aiming at NDRF, SDRF, civil defence, district administration or NGO response roles.

This is not for you if

  • You are already a graduate. Start at MVDM.
  • You want the fire-specific track. Take BVFS or BVFSHM.
